Green Riffle Runner an Original Bass fly fishing watercolor 11x15 of a Guadalupe bass, the Texas state fish

Green Riffle Runner is an 11”x15” watercolor original, with an image size of 9”x13”.

This piece is a tribute to the practice of catch and release. A fly fishing Instagram follower took an amazing photograph of this Guadalupe Bass just as he was releasing it. Especially unique, a hand tied version of the Clouser Minnow streamer is the fly that the bass went for is depicted on its bottom lip. With his permission, I posted the progression of each stage of the painting. Piece by piece, each stage was color and mood changing success.

The compilation of the small successes with a very subtle touch of a Finetec metallic sheen, allowed me to capture the essence of the Texas state fish, and a favorite of many fishermen.
