This 36" x 48" original oil painting is the very first one that I completed with progression pictures taken throughout it's evolution. Allyson is a friend that took the original picture of the moon during an eclipse. She was on the east coast, and I was caught under overcast skies on the west coast. Thankful that she'd caught, and posted the photos to Facebook, I shared every step of the growth and evolution of the painting that she inspired. There is a full album of the progression pictures on my page.
I've always been fascinated with all things concerning space, and space exploration. As Hubble and Kepler discover hundreds of new planets, I imagine far off worlds and what they may look like.
Although this was inspired by the moon, it became part of a solar system in a galaxy of it's own. An earth-like planet is encircled by 'saturn-like' rings. The energy stream from a distant quasar and a passing dark asteroid illuminates the planets' magnetic field at both its' north and south poles.
The larger red planet in the upper left of the scene was directly inspired by the moon. It has a black moon of its' own, and a very highly charged atmosphere. This scene captures a golden asteroid sparking lightening across the atmosphere and even out into space.
NOTE: At this time, I'm only able to approximate the shipping costs if the canvas is removed from its' frame and shipped, rolled in a tube. Please contact me for exact shipping costs, and we can collaborate on your desired method of shipment.
