The Way Home

This is a 16" x 20" original oil painting. I created this from a sketch I did while on a cross-country flight 'on my way home'. When the aircraft circled out over the ocean, I was inspired to add to my collection of lighthouses. The lighthouse is a sailors beacon, and heralds the fact that you are almost home. I completed the sketch just before the flight was about to land.
Regrettably, the original sketch is lost, but having captured in oil before that sad day, I have this snapshot of hope.
